Tag Heuer Ambassador Naomi Osaka wins 2nd Australian Open title

Naomi Osaka​ won her second Australian Open Title over the weekend with straight-sets 6-4, 6-3 victory over Jennifer Brady in the 2021 Australian Open​ women’s final Saturday at Melbourne Park. This marks the fourth Major title of her soaring career and the continuation of her win streak, now up to an impressive 21 wins. Osaka also won the 2020 U.S. Open, giving her back-to-back major titles for the second time. A feat She pulled off in the 2018 U.S. Open and 2019 Australian Open.

The 23 year old superstar played at her peak or very close to it this past weekend, overwhelming her opponent with heavy, pace-laced strokes, and especially off-angled backhands.

Osaka held the advantage over Brady, 26, in almost every major statistical category in the championship match, including winners (16-15), aces (6-2) and break points converted (4-2).

This was Brady’s first appearance in a Grand Slam Final, having been steadily on the rise, with two straight Grand Slam events where she at least reached the semifinals. The 26 year old had previously never advanced beyond the fourth round before last year’s U.S. Open. She took the loss gracefully, speaking at the end of the ceremony “Tonight it wasn’t meant to be,” she ​told reporters​. “Hopefully there’s many more.”

The Updated Chronoswiss Opus Chronograph Flag

HNZ partner brand Chronoswiss, proudly introduces an updated edition of a true classic with the new skeletonized Opus Chronograph Flag. The new modern 300-part horological marvel features blue, white and red – the three most used colours for national flags. These three colors featured on the second hand and sub-dial perimeters make a great visual impression above the carefully and ingeniously skeletonised watch dial. In 1995, Chronoswiss advanced its skeletonising chapter with the first Opus Chronograph. More than a quarter-century later, Chronoswiss thoroughly updates the Opus architecture with the new Chronograph Flag.

Its new geometry combines a 41-millimetre diameter with shorter lugs that hug the wrist for a more comfortable fit. Additionally, the solid construction of the new stainless steel case requires only 23 parts compared to 38 parts for older versions. These two changes reveal a continued pursuit from Chronoswiss to continuously advance modern innovative design. This new update is consistent with Chronoswiss’s tradition of combining artisanal values with modern materials.
